For many years camp has endeavored to develop a place for those who are interested in Camp ministry beyond the summer season. Originally the Teleios program was designed to provide Biblical instruction and training through formal Bible teaching and intentional interaction with a staff family. Students in this program would also work at the camp, giving them camp service experience to foster spiritual growth. However, after several years we realized that this model did not fit the structure and needs of camp or provide the experience desired by students. After much thought and prayer we have developed a new program that is designed for our Bible camp context.

The Explore program is a 9 month internship program designed for people who want to experience serving God in a camp ministry context. While spiritual investment is a part of the program the main endeavor is hands-on service at camp. One of the biggest benefits of this experience is fellowship with the staff community and seeing firsthand God’s work here at camp.  

A typical week is much like a weekly volunteer serving at camp in areas like (kitchen, program, maintenance or office). Church involvement and mentoring relationships will also be a regular part of your internship experience. Additionally, each week the Explore interns meet with the director of the program to go over the weekly schedule. Spiritual investment will also be apart of the explore experience with fellowship meals, and book/ Bible studies built into the program.  

We are excited to see how God will use this experience in the lives of current and future interns in the days and months ahead!
