A few months ago, we announced that we had begun a search for a new full-time staff member. We put the word out nationally and received many inquiries from interested candidates. Good News! Our search for a School Group Manager is complete. As always, it is hard to beat our fantastic volunteers! We have offered the position to recent Boys Camp volunteer Andy Douglass.
Andy has been involved in camping most of his life. He worked on summer staff at two different camps in Southeast Wisconsin while he was in high school and has volunteered periodically since. The Douglasses have been sending their children to Living Waters for the last four years. Andy has stated that even though there are camps closer to his home, he chose Living Waters because of the Bible teaching, missions-minded service and creation focus.
Andy has always felt called to serve the Lord by serving people. He has been a police officer for the past 15 years, currently in the town of Mukwonago. His position allows him to serve people, train people and has taught him the importance of communication. He sees his role as a service to the people in his community and enjoys helping people in their time of greatest need. However, he feels his time as a police officer has come to an end. His heart is to be in camping ministry full time, with his family.
Andy, his wife Kristen and their four children; Drew (age 17), Abigail (14), Seth (12), and Kora (8) are excited to move to Westby and be a part of the Living Waters family. They have many obstacles to overcome before they are able to relocate. They need to sell their home in East Troy, Wisconsin. (Do you know anyone looking for a house?) Andy needs to finish up his career as a police officer and they need to raise at least 75% of their salary before they move to Westby. Our goal is to have him here by August 1st but we would all like to see them here earlier.
We are so excited to add this new role to camp. We believe Andy will enable us to serve more school groups and serve them better. The Douglass family will be a great fit to camp and they can’t wait to meet each of you.
