At Living Waters Bible Camp, we are committed to our Mission which says to reach, train, and equip individuals to become servant leaders through the truth of God’s word, intentional Godly relationships, and learning adventures in His creation. The Tabernacle Experience brings all three of these methods into action by allowing visitors to see the word of God in physical form, to come together as a group to worship our Awesome God, and to learn through the adventure that is the Tabernacle Experience.
A note from a first time Summer Staffer-
“Living Waters program staff built a life size Tabernacle replica that campers got to physically walk though. This includes the curtain gate, the courtyard, the altar, water basin, table of show bread, lampstand, incense altar, and the Ark of the Covenant in the most holy place. One of my favorite memories from this summer was during Senior High Camp during the Tabernacle Experience. We had worship music being played outside the courtyard, and as the music played, campers were dismissed cabin by cabin to silently walk through the Tabernacle. When they came back out and joined back in with the worship music, all I could hear around me were the tears of campers. You could feel the difference between when campers first went in to when they came back out. They had spent all week learning about all the different pieces of the Tabernacle and the significance of what they represented. They then got to walk in reverently, experiencing personally what they had learned. It was truly a beautiful sight to see, and you could tell that the Lord was working in the lives of those 117 high school students.”
“Those of you who were able to get to camp this summer saw the full-sized tabernacle model as part of our Created for Worship summer theme. What a blessing to walk through the tabernacle and be taught of so many ways the tabernacle points to the Lord Jesus. I was encouraged this summer as I considered the numerous steps that took place every day in the real tabernacle just to deal with sin. And to think, that all that blood shed there was unable to cleans the worshiper of their sin (Hebrews 10:1-4). We needed Jesus to come and pay the price we could never pay. What a Savior! I hope you personally were able to take a tour.” -Mike Balk
“The tabernacle was a great experience; I have never felt closer to God” -Senior High Camper
“When I was at the tabernacle experience, I felt overwhelmed with Christ, and the rest of the night I felt peace.”- Senior High Camper
“The Tabernacle experience left me in awe and majesty of the Lord God almighty. Seeing my students as leaders step up and lead others gave me reassurance that my efforts to teach them in the faith is having an impact on them along with the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.” -School group retreater
These are just a few of the 2000+ individuals that experienced the Tabernacle this summer and fall. We are incredibly grateful for all the individuals, families, churches and school groups that got to encounter Christ in a new way though the Tabernacle!
