2020 has been an unusual year at camp! Although we served fewer campers, our staff and volunteers did a lot more work, and the mission of Living Waters Bible Camp continued on. Praise the Lord!
We thank the Lord for His grace and mercy to allow us to serve many campers and groups this summer and fall without any cases of Covid-19 that could have closed camp. A few groups postponed, and a couple canceled, but we hope they will return next year.
We used the springtime to catch up on projects, do extra cleaning, and invest time learning and planning for what we could do during the summer – rather than what we could not do. We trust the Lord used the time for His glory, as we still saw a spiritual transformation take place! It was amazing to hear testimonies of salvation, both this summer, and fall. We had 17 incredible tours of the tabernacle this fall for schools and churches.
Even with all the ministry and activity the Lord has allowed, our income and budget suffered. We had no spring guest groups and in order to comply with health recommendations, our summer camps were 1/3 the size of the previous year. This resulted in a drop of approximately $180,000 in budgeted income. However, we are thankful for the available savings and the PPP loan, which has helped us maintain a sustainable budget. With current groups and normal giving and expenses, we are projecting a drop in our year-end position to be only $15-20,000.
We want to keep Living Waters Bible Camp ready and able to welcome more campers and families who will see and experience the presence of God. We received many messages these past months from parents who are thankful we could remain open and minister to their children.
We ask you to pray for the ministry here and prayerfully consider contributing financially to help the ongoing impact of Living Waters Bible Camp.
