In the winter of 1995, I walked into a Salvation Army Camp in MN and asked if they had any full-time positions. The next week, I began working as a custodian for the camp! For the past 25 years, I have been blessed to serve God in a ministry that impacts people for eternity. My adventure has included some difficult days and many joyous moments of true ministry. It is my joy to come alongside individuals to help them discover their identity in Christ and find real purpose in their life. “For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at His coming? Is it not you?” 1 Thessalonians 2:19. I cannot wait to get to Heaven to hear all the stories of how camp has impacted lives for eternity!

It is my life goal to continue to make an impact for God’s kingdom by mentoring, and, as such, I have an announcement to make. Starting in January, I am transitioning away from full-time service at camp to work with The Life Group, a Financial Services business. I will be a Financial Advisor and fulfill another lifelong dream of mine. My prayer is that this will not end my service at camp, but rather provide the best of both worlds! I will serve people as a Financial Advisor and serve people as a volunteer at camp fulfilling portions of my current job description at Living Waters.

It is with great anticipation and excitement that I am embracing this new stage in my ministry career. I have been amazed by the opportunities to minister to people through financial services. This role allows me to meet complete strangers, and, within an hour of chatting, they begin sharing details about their finances, family, and faith and ask me for advice. It is an open door, ready for me to walk through!

Please pray for our family as we make this transition. Camp is a very important part of life for us. It will be a challenge to balance both. Thank you for your prayers and for those who have supported our family over the years.

I am very encouraged by Dennis and the Board’s support in this decision. They have publicly promoted my business and encouraged me to share it with you here.

I am very excited about my new role and it would be my honor to serve you and your family. Contact me to set up a free financial assessment. We’ll talk, pray, dream, and plan together.

God Bless,

Paul and Jenny Thompson
