Living Waters hosts TREK Retreat.
For more than 10 years, Living Waters Bible Camp and Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU), have partnered to provide training for college students during the annual TREK Leadership Conference.
TREK compares living the Christian life to the analogy of climbing a mountain throughout a 5 day training retreat. The group begins at “Basecamp” where they are challenged to examine their own relationship with the Lord. Next, they “ascend the mountain” for Evangelism training including real world experience witnessing on the streets of LaCrosse. Before reaching the “summit” they focus on bringing others along in the area of discipleship.
Interwoven in this intense time of training, Living Waters provides adventures in God’s creation like our Team Adventure Challenge, Climbing Tower, Zip Line, Giant Swing and Caving. The adventures continue with a canoe trip down the Kickapoo River and a camp out in the Adirondacks or covered wagons.
Considering our mission, to Reach, Train and Equip individuals to become Servant Leaders through the truth of God’s Word and adventures in His creation, TREK stands out as a prime example of how we are accomplishing this mission. The gospel is presented , understood and proclaimed; students invest in skills training, information and tools to help them better serve; and God’s word is not compromised.
