Young Adult Retreat

The need for quality training and godly fellowship for young people is clear. This age group is under assault by our culture and society. God’s calling for believers is to be Salt and Light in a dark world.

Join us for this specially designed weekend to give you the strength and knowledge you need to meet the needs of your world. The schedule each day will include fellowship, recreation, and in-depth Bible study.

The purpose of the Young Adult Retreat is to provide an environment for young adults to grow in their faith and friendships. It is designed for those 18 years old and up, single or married. We respectfully request those under the age of 18 not attend.

Speakers: Dave and Sandy Hart

Dave and Sandy met at Living Waters in 1989, at which time Dave won Sandy’s heart by giving her a bouquet of balloon tulips (Sandy’s favorite flower). The impact of this unbelievably romantic gesture was so great that she agreed to marry him the next year. Alas, she would never receive another balloon tulip, and yet, 36 years later, they continue to be happily married, forming a close partnership in life, family, and ministry.

Today they are the proud parents of three adult children, and four grandchildren – one of whom they have yet to meet (due in January). For fun they build things, ride e-bikes, and get babysat by their grandkids (the three that are already born)…who live right around the corner. 🤪

Despite a number of moves and ministry roles, there is one constant in their calling to serve Christ together: a desire to see people experience the reality of the gospel as Christ lives His life in and through them. They pursue this calling at Bible Truth Chapel in Wausau, WI, where Dave serves as pastor. They have never lost their love for the power of camp as a place where God impacts lives for His glory.

SCHEDULE

Check-In: Friday, 6:00 pm

Friday Evening: Welcome, Introductions,  Worship and Session 1
Annual YAR Bonfire and other special activities.

Saturday

  • 2 teaching sessions with time for small group discussions
  • Breakout Options: Possible Options include – Disk Golf, Giant Swing, Escape Room
  • Viroqua Indoor Ice Arena: Ice Skating, Broomball.  Camp has skates and broomball equipment or bring your own.
  • Evening Activities

Sunday

  • Sun Rise Service at Outdoor Chapel
  • Yummy Brunch
  • Closing teaching session and Communion

Things to know:

  • Bring your own bedding and toiletries.

  • Housing is dorm-style. Bunk beds, indoor bathrooms, rooms are heated.

  • Dietary needs may be accommodated if communicated in advance. Please contact us with any requests.

  • Bring warm clothes. Be prepared for outdoor activities.

  • Money for the store. (deposited online or at check-in)

  • Bible, notebook, and pen.
